Strengths
Writing has always been a big strength for Emma. Ever since she picked up her first pen (she doesn't like pencils) she hasn't been able to put one down. She journals constantly about what is going on in her life or about any ideas or dreams she's had that would make a good story.
Math is another strength for Emma. Her father, being a mechanic and actually working with numbers constantly would always help her understand math making it easier and easier for her as the years progressed.
One of the odd strengths for Emma is her memory for remembering random lines from several different movies. This also goes for some of her favorite books.
Emma is very good at making smoothies and shakes. Whether it be milkshakes, protein shakes or fruit smoothies.
She is also quite handy when it comes to fixing things. Her father, being a mechanic taught her several things usually when he was helping her with her math.
Weaknesses
One weakness for Emma would be cooking. She's never been very good at making a good meal usually burning and over cooking everything.
Heights have also always been a weak point. She doesn't enjoy being high off the ground for fear of falling.
Emma has also never quite liked swimming, and has never been very good at it. She almost drowned when she was younger and that sparked a fear and weakness when it has come to water.
She hasn't ever been very good at science either. Molecules and atoms and zygotes just aren't of her interest and so she doesn't excel very well at it.
Her coordination isn't the greatest either. She tends to fall rather a lot.
Personality
Emma has always thought herself as normal, though what exactly what that really means remains as a mystery to her. The only reason she used to think of herself as normal was because she had a pretty good life before she was diagnosed with dementia after having a panic attack that everything around her was slowing down, and it had not been the first time for things slowing down and for the panic attack.
One of her greatest downfalls is that she can freak out during stressful situations. Even if she is just under a lot of stress Emma may have a bit of a melt down or panic attack whether it's just by rambling on about a list of unfortunate events that could occur because of whatever she is stressed about or she simply just has the need to cry or scream. Fortunetly she is easy to calm down soon after. In fact, she is pretty easy to cheer up if she is sad or depressed as well.
Other than her little freak outs that happen pretty rarely she is actually a pretty calm person. She doesn't get stressed too often, which actually adds to why she freaks out when she does. But once again, other than that she is rather calm, being found doing chores or homework without getting annoyed or unhappy that she has to do them or have pleasant small talk with others. That doesn't necessarily mean she is always calm.
Emma can actually be quite a wild child, maybe not always in front of others but at least alone or with a close friend she is. Saying that though, she might start doing something embarrassing when she thinks she is alone. Emma tends to get herself in rather embarrassing situations a lot.
Her only other odd trait would be that she talks to herself in third person a lot. Being a writer who mostly writes story she can bit a bit crazed about it and go over board by talking to herself in third person.
you will never ever, ever make me

Family
Roberto Van Bruhnt, Emma's father, is a fifty year old mechanic married to Allison Van Bruhnt, a forty-eight year old veterinarian. Aside from Emma, they have a twenty year old son named Ethan who recently opened up his own cafe, and another son who is only four years old.
History
Emma Marie Van Bruhnt was born on February 4th to two loving parents, who had conceived another child three years earlier. She was a small baby in which her parents joked that they would one day accidentally squeeze her so hard that her brain would pop out. Her brother on the other hand had been just the opposite, he was a bigger baby. She was a bit of a rambunctious child to start out with but soon she picked up her first pen and put all her energy into learning to write.
As Emma grew up, she lived a relatively "normal" life, if that is what one would call it. Two loving parents, an older brother who would pick on her as seen fit but still enjoyed her company, and even a grandmother whom she could go to for advise. She was the one who helped Emma further her writing and showed her how to develop her talent.
After Emma turned thirteen she began experiencing odd periods of time where everything around her seemed to either slow down or speed up. At one point she even claimed that time seemed to stand still but she remained to be able to move at a natural speed. A few other times she referred to experiences where she went through a whole day that had been the exact same as the one before.
Her parents, confused took her to see a doctor they had been referred to, Doctor Davidoff who ended up diagnosing her with Dementia and telling her that her experiences were mere hallucinations. He also offered for her to become a patient at the Lyle House for Mentally Disturbed Teens. Though she herself did not want to go, her parents forced her into it so that she could recover and no longer have these experiences. From that, Emma had been in Lyle House for almost four years ocassionally being allowed to go home for whole months at a time.
